A little about us...
My love for creating all natural, luxurious and organic skin care has been influenced by many things over the years. My mom is very health conscious and crafty. From morning shakes to healthy snacks to telling my teachers I was allergic to chocolate..... I wasn't! I'm sure if you asked my brother, he would tell you that our mom was definitely a major influencer for him to pursue his dreams of becoming a Naturopathic doctor. School projects were always an adventure and fun because I could always count on my mom for help and there was no end to her imagination, we didn't do simple and easy. Over the years I've enjoyed different outlets that have allowed me to be creative, whether it was cake decorating, card/scrapbooking, jewellery making and everything in between.
Growing up in Osoyoos I learned very early on that moisturizing after a shower was a MUST! I wasn't too picky with what I used as long as it smelled good and my skin wasn't dry and irritated, I was happy. Once my brother and his wife graduated and opened their Naturopathic clinic, I started to be a bit more selective with the products I was choosing; however, it wasn't until I became a mom that I really started reading the labels. One of the greatest experiences I have had is being a mom to two amazing little souls. It has its challenges for sure but I love each and every one. Just like any new mom I wanted to make sure I was limiting the amount of chemicals my babies were exposed to and giving them a proper foundation for their immune systems to strive. The more labels I read, the more research I did and the more I realized that there are a lot of unnecessary and harmful chemicals in products that we use every single day. Our skin is the largest organ of our body and the first line of defense to our immune system. Our skin is porous and absorbs everything we put on it which can directly affect how our immune system functions. What once was acceptable for me was no longer an option for my children or myself as I can't take care of my most precious possessions if I'm not fit to take care of myself.
I started working with essential oils and creating moisturizing and all organic body butters. I began crafting body butter for family and friends and soon realized I wanted to share my love of all-natural body care options with other people that have similar concerns and desires and so Naturally BRAVE Essentials was created. Our name and logo are very special to me as it signifies the union of our family. My name is Brittny, my husband's name is Dave, together we are BRAVE. Our logo has a dragonfly with two open wings to represent the letter J for our children Jasper and Jazmyn. I began this journey for my family and they are why I continue this journey. My love for creating luxurious body products lead me to wanting to learn more so I enrolled and completed my course in Formula Botanica's Diploma in Organic Skincare which has allowed me to build my knowledge and confidence in creating safe and effective skincare. I have since enrolled in their Advanced Diploma in Organic Cosmetic Science and Certificate in Organic Anti-Ageing Skincare. A lot of love and care goes into every batch of product I create and I'm looking forward to broadening our product line.
